Girlan - Lagrein DOC Classically a dark red wine.

Sandy, warm and deep soils, such as those found in the South Tyrolean Unterland, are ideal for the Lagrein. The Lagrein grape variety comes from South Tyrol and is widespread throughout the Adige Valley, where it develops an intense and delicate fragrance thanks to the high temperature fluctuations. It is a very late-ripening grape variety, which is increasingly raised on trellises.

The grapes are picked by hand and delivered in small containers. The grapes are destemmed and fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. Maturation and aging for five months, partly in large wooden barrels and partly in concrete barrels.

The Lagrein has a fine and pleasant aroma that is reminiscent of violets. The taste is full, velvety with a good acid structure.

It can be stored for a long time and goes perfectly with grilled meat, roasts, game and spicy cheese.
