Girlan - Chardonnay DOC Flora 2018

The Girlan - Chardonnay DOC Flora  is a traditional white wine from the Girlan growing area.

The grapes chosen for this extraordinary wine grow in Girlan on the hills of the Überetsch at an altitude of 450 - 500 m above sea level, which are planted with 15 to 20 year old vines and are raised in the Guyot system.

The soil of the cultivation area is rich in minerals formed from sediments from the Ice Age.

The grapes are picked by hand and delivered in small containers. After the whole cluster has been pressed, the must is cleared of the sediment by natural sedimentation. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels of 12 and 15 hl with subsequent malolactic fermentation. This is followed by aging on the fine lees for 12 months and storage for a further 6 months in the bottle.

It has an elegant structure and a beautiful consistency with intense fruity notes. Excellent structure, spicy and mineral with a long finish on the palate.

Goes well with fine dishes, including white meat.
